history - course design

The course opened on September 1, 1990. The Granite City Park District took ownership in October 2009.

Since that time they have earned the coveted "Readers Choice Award" from the Suburban Journal all three years - 2010,2011,2012.

Legacy has earned that award due to excellent pricing and value to customers, investment back into the course, creation of new programs / services and excellence in customer service.

Legacy is ideally suited for seniors, juniors, ladies and beginning golfers. This is due to the short track (6000 yards from white tee box) and flat terrain. There are seven lakes and ponds that add a degree of difficulty to the course.

Featured Hole
Number # 7 At Legacy

The seventh hole at The Legacy Golf course is a risk/reward par 4. Long hitters can take advantage of the dogleg left and leave only a wedge into the green. Others will be best suited to play it safe and hit a mid-iron into this relatively flat green. Par on this hole is usually a good score.
